  • 2–3 green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon chopped ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

How to Make Matar Ki Poori – Step by Step

Step 1: Prepare the Green Peas Filling

  1. Grind green peas, green chilies, and ginger into a coarse paste (do not add water).
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan.
  3. Add cumin seeds and hing.
  4. Add the ground peas mixture.
  5. Add salt and cook for 2–3 minutes until moisture reduces.
  6. Let the mixture cool completely.

Step 2: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a bowl, add whole wheat flour and salt.
  2. Add water gradually and knead into a firm dough.
  3. Cover and rest for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Stuff and Roll

  1. Take a small portion of dough.
  2. Flatten it slightly and place 1 spoon of stuffing in the center.
  3. Seal the edges carefully.
  4. Roll gently into a small puri.

Step 4: Fry the Poori

  1. Heat oil for deep frying.
  2. Once oil is hot, gently slide the poori into oil.
  3. Press lightly with a spoon to puff it up.
  4. Fry until golden brown.
  5. Remove and drain excess oil.
